LETI GARZA
Leti Garza, singer/songwriter/artist from Austin, Texas, performs World Latin music with a social activist’s sensibility. Her songs underline her commitment to social justice and address the challenges of migration, women’s rights and cultural bias. She targets and translates with her voice, the repertoire of singers and songwriters such as Celia Cruz, Mercedes Sosa, Violeta Parra, Elias Regina and with deep dedication, Eva Garza, Leti’s aunt. She bilingually integrates Afro-Caribbean rhythms with American pop, traditional Son, Latin jazz and Folk. Garza infuses the song with such feeling that words become encumbrances.
